Bachelor of Arts

The Bachelor of Arts in Dance offers a well rounded education in dance technique, theory, choreography, and performance. With concentrations offered in modern and jazz, students are encouraged to pursue their own unique talents and grow as artists, supported by professionally active faculty and special guest artists. The BA program strives to challenge students with technical practice in various dance techniques, theoretical study in several areas, and ample performance opportunities.

All BA candidates are required to complete a placement audition prior to acceptance into the Dance Program.

The placement audition is comprised of three 30-minute classes, one each in modern, jazz, and ballet. There is also an improvisational section. Audition pieces are not required. Please arrive a few minutes early to fill out forms and to warm up. Bring appropriate dance shoes for each class. Wear dance clothing that allows your bodylines to be visible, no extra layers.
