Community Engagement

High School VisitOur Design Department believes that design is more than just aesthetics; it’s also the ability to apply what they learn in the classroom in order to better their communities, not only as designers, but as global citizens. Our Animation/Illustration students often work with high school programs and give talks to younger students who visit SJSU. Listed below are some of the partnerships our Animation/Illustration Design students were able to take part in as designers to meaningful community improvement.

Visiting Animation & Illustration

Zoom visits to the program are available one Friday each month at 10 am and must be scheduled in advance. Visits consist of a program overview,  samples of student artwork, information about our student club, and a virtual facilities tour. Visits generally last approximately 60 minutes and can be arranged by emailing professor David.Chai@sjsu.edu.

Tours for the academic year 2020/2021: 9/18, 10/16, 11/13, 12/4, 2/12, 3/12, 4/9, 5/7
