Active since 1983 in Basel, Switzerland after his studies of graphic design at the Basel School of Design. In 1988 he opens in Basel his "Studio AND". From from postage-stamp to mint design, from street-posters to book design, from logo to corporate identities his professional experience is wide. From private projects (Handbook, H-and-S) to clients assignments (Amnesty International, Pro Helvetia, UNHCR) his work has been awarded in international competitions and published worldwide in various books and magazines.

In 2005, after over 20 years in Basel, Jean-Benoit transfers his studio oversea to concentrate his career in San Francisco, California. There he works with his wife and partner Claudia Dallendoerfer. He is active as freelancer for other studios and agencies and for his own clients. Since 1991 Jean-Benoit is also teaching regularly and gives lectures in various schools in Europe, United States and Asia. Jean-Benoit is a member of AIGA and AGI.
