Chris Whittall earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design from California College of the Arts in 1994. As a principal at Surfaceink in San Jose, Chris works with Fortune 100 companies and start-ups to develop new technologies and transform them into meaningful and unique product experiences. Chris has designed products for Alza, Cisco, Dell, GE, Google, Haier, Hewlett Packard, Intel, Logitech, Samsung, Sun Microsystems, SunPower, SGI, and more. He holds 45 US Patents and his work has been internationally recognized by Red Dot, IF, SPARK, IDEA, IDA, Chicago Athenaeum and more.
Chris enjoys working with the industrial design students at SJSU, where he helps them to realize their full potential as designers and prepare for their professional careers. Before joining the faculty at SJSU, Chris taught at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco.
