What do we do?

The Psychophysiology/Stress Management Program provides training in biofeedback, stress management therapy, peak performance training that is useful in work, recreation, and sport settings. We give you individual attention and use modern, sophisticated scientific equipment. You receive individual attention from the staff which is comprised of San Jose State University Human Performance faculty, graduates, and graduate students.

The Psychophysiology/Stress Management Program is part of one of three centers in the Physical Performance Institute. It is conveniently located in Los Gatos in an 11,000 square foot facility which houses modern, high-tech equipment for testing and rehabilitation.

How much will testing and training cost?

Cost of testing and consultation varies depending of the specific tests or package chosen. Call us for more information or to make an appointment (408-866-4059 x 242).

Ergonomics: Injury Prevention

This training will help you develop ergonomically correct posture, position, and movements to help prevent injury in tasks. EMG and respiratory feedback training help you develop kinesthetic awareness. You can develop psychophysiological control and somatic awareness by training with multiple modalities (e.g., EMG, heart rate). Skills training helps you overcome fixed positions, repetitive strain, muscle atrophy, and inappropriate and misplaced bracing. Programs that relate to ergonomic include:

Hours of operation

Testing is by appointment only. Hours of operation are adaptable and designed to meet client needs. Since staff are also associated with San Jose State University we are not in the office at all times during the normal working day. Leave us a message and we will get back to you within two working days.

Staff

The Sport and Fitness Evaluation program is staffed by faculty from San Jose State University and students from the Department of Human Performance who are either graduate students or upper division students in good standing.
