Sight Jacker: An Nyan Novel: The First Note

Sight Jacker: An Nyan Novel: The First Note is young adult paranormal-romance about first love, second chances, three suspects and four murders. Oh, did I mention five enemies and a sixth sense? The Nyan Novel series centers around the secrets that best friends share and the secrets that can turn those best friends into enemies.

Adhering to seven of the eight Exeter Qualities of YA fiction, Sight Jacker inspires imagination while creating a thrilling tale where the stakes are life and death—literally and socially—and although metaphysical in plot, the world is littered with real teen issues. For example, the heroine Mallory Aisling is a normal teen with abnormal abilities, who is struggling to balance fitting in with remaining true to herself. She has a thing for denim, watches way too much Hulu, and doesnt understand school spirit: hopes for world peace, the end to global warming, and taco Tuesdays. However, shes spent the past five years, in the aftermath of her parents tragic death, putting her life back together, learning how to hide her psychic powers, and trying to appear normal. But one day back in her old life and Mal has to find the inner strength to expose her powers, even if it means social suicide and forever ruining her chance at a normal teen existence.

Written in first person narrative, Mallory is a telepath whose powers of mind-reading have shifted, a coming of age in a sense, gifting her the ability to jumps into peoples minds and see through their eyes. This allows for multiple points of view and distorted timelines, as well as gives the foundation for a complex and high stakes plot, filled with deadly secrets and intense forward action.

The Nyan Novel series follows five former friends, vastly different, and each with their own psychic power, as they learn to trust each other again and rebuild their friendship. Each book is told from a different girls point of view as they balance love, friends, and typical teen issues; all while solving separate mysteries, which leads up to the major showdown at prom with a pair of psychotic, psychically-gifted twins in the series finale.

In Sight Jacker (book 1), Mallory Aisling is a week shy of her seventeen birthday and in mourning. Mourning the death of her parents, the lack of a drivers license, the fact that shes never been kissed, and the reality that she is about to set foot in the one place she swore shed never return.

On her first day back at Saint Helena High, Mal telepathically sight jacks—the psychic equivalent of a web-chat—into the mind of a terrified girl. The girl has been bound, gagged, and abducted. But is it really Kade Patrick—town hottie, all around MVP, and Mals long time crush—that took her? Mal isnt entirely sure she can trust her sixth sense or her 4 ex-BFFs, especially when she learns that theyve been hiding psychic secrets of their own. Now they have to put their past behind them and work together to find the missing girl before the killer finds them or claims his next victim.
