The Structure of Planetary and Satellite Systems

Planetary and satellite systems display magnificient regularities that call to mind clockwork mechanisms. Ironically the word planet is derived from the Greek word for wanderer. If there is anything that does not wander from its prescribed path it is a planet. Of course, the designation of wanderer came from its movement with respect to the fixed stars in the night sky.

Below are the links to a set of webpages dealing with the explanation of the structure of our solar system and some of the satellite systems of its planets. There are even some references to the structure of planetary systems of other stars besides our Sun.
