Policies

These policies are designed to ensure an effective and productive classroom experience. Any changes or modifications I make in them will be in your favor.

Attendance: In this class, we will frequently discuss issues and concepts that cannot be found in the book. Therefore, your attendance is required. If you miss class, it is your responsibility to get class notes or other necessary information from a fellow student.

Make-ups: Unexcused late assignments may be made up. However, I deduct 10 percent per 24-hour period after the assignment is due.

Tardiness: Coming to class a few minutes late once or twice is no crisis. However, I reserve the right to alter your assignment requirements if you are excessively tardy.

Students with Disabilities: If you need course adaptations because of a disability, if you have emergency medical information to share with me, or if you need special arrangements in case the building must be evacuated, please make an appointment with me as soon as possible, or chat with me during office hours.

Academic Honesty: Academic misconduct will not be tolerated in my class. The use of another person's ideas as your own without providing proper credit will result in your failing my class. See the SJSU catalog or talk with me if you have any questions.

Lab Rules: Keep the computer lab clean by keeping food and drink outside. Keep it running smoothly by never changing computer or monitor settings unless authorized by instructor. Loading software onto the computers is prohibited. When you leave the lab, remove all your papers and trash. I will provide more specific guidance on lab policy in a separate sheet.

Reality Check: I recognize that learning how to build webpages while mastering new theoretical concepts can be pretty rough, especially since you have plenty of commitments beyond this classroom. My advice is to remember that you're not alone. Seek help and guidance from colleagues and, by all means, let me know if I can make a reasonable accommodation in our learning environment to help you succeed.
