Auditions for theatre and film productions are held at the beginning of each semester. Specific audition information and requirements are posted on the main page of the Film and Theatre website at www.sjsu.edu/filmandtheatre and below
Auditions are open to all SJSU students, regardless of major. Students cast in University Theatre Productions earn credit in TA 117 - 1 unit (Practice in Acting or Directing).
Each University Theatre production also provides opportunities for students to work as member of the production crew (lighting, sound, costuming, make-up, stage hand, etc.) and earn credit in TA 91 or TA 191 (Production Activity).

ABOUT THE PRODUCTIONS:
by Jose Rivera, directed by Kirsten Brandt
Winner of the 1993 Obie Award, Marisol follows Marisol Perez, a copy editor for a Manhattan publisher who grew up and lives
in the Bronx. Striving to maintain her burgeoning middle-class existence, she is confronted
with the cruel realities of inequality as she narrowly escapes assault on the subway.
When her Guardian Angel appears and declares “the universal body is sick,” Marisol
is thrust into a world she didn’t think possible.
Circle Mirror Transformation
by Annie Baker, directed by Scott Cummins
When four lost New Englanders who enroll in Marty’s six-week-long community-center drama class begin to experiment with harmless games, hearts are quietly torn apart, and tiny wars of epic proportions are waged and won. A beautifully crafted diorama, a petri dish in which we see, with hilarious detail and clarity, the antic sadness of a motley quintet.
