About Aviation
SJSU’s aviation program provides specialized training that builds on understanding the fundamentals of aviation along with mathematics, science and general courses. We prepare students for a wide range of careers in the aviation industry including airport, maintenance and operations management, air traffic control management, professional flying and avionics.
SJSU’s Department of Aviation and Technology has a very high success rate, placing over 90% of its graduates in careers directly related to their major program of study. Aviation at SJSU is also ranked first on the West Coast and fourth in the nation by Best Colleges.
Future Careers
- Professional flight: become an airline pilot
- Operations: manage airport safety, secuirty and airspace system
- Aviation management: facilitate the operations of air transportation
- Maintenance management: manage airline maintenance and services
