H&A Transfer Spartan Orientation Summer 2022

family with sammy spartan

Welcome new transfer H&A Spartans! We at the H&A Student Success Center (HASSC) are extremely excited in welcoming you to SJSU. Orientation is required for all new students, and you must participate in its full duration. Check your email regularly so that you don't miss any of the important dates and deadlines. Any changes to the information here will be updated as soon as possible.

Get Ready

To prepare you for Orientation and Registration, the HASSC team developed the Humanities and the Arts Transfer Orientation course in Canvas. Please accept this Canvas course to learn about degree requirements and to explore and find resources you'll need for a successful transition to SJSU. The modules are designed to guide you through the registration process and provide you recommendations on what a good workload for your first semester at SJSU could look like.

Attend Transfer Orientation

All admitted transfer students must attend one Spartan Experience for Transfers (SET) session, and participate for the entire duration of the program. Here you will get an official campus welcome, hear from various departments including Financial Aid and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and meet with general academic advisors and major advisors. It's also a great opportunity to begin building relationships with other incoming Spartans!

SET is mandatory and attendance will be recorded. If you do not attend, or if you leave during any portion of the event, you will be blocked from registering for classes and will NOT be able to attend SJSU in Fall 2022.

New Student and Family Programs will send you an orientation confirmation letter to your MySJSU Messages one week prior to your scheduled virtual orientation date. You can access your MySJSU Messages via your one.SJSU.edu student portal.
