Silicon Valley Innovation Boot Camp

Silicon Valley Innovation Boot Camp is a program for international students seeking an intensive innovative design and entrepreneurship experience. Through a series of online workshops and lectures, students have the opportunity to participate in a six (6) day virtual program. In this program students will learn from industry speakers, network, learn about Silicon Valley culture, and gain global experience with students from different countries.

Goals of the Silicon Valley Boot Camp:

The goal of the program is to provide insight into

  • the characteristics of entrepreneurs, 
  • the approaches they use to create, identify, and evaluate opportunities for new ventures 
  • the skills that are needed to start and manage new ventures. 

At the end of the program, student teams will compete in order to participate in the Silicon Valley Innovation Challenge (SVIC) in Fall 2021.  

Lecture Team

Lectures on entrepreneurship
Learn from instructors with practical experience in product innovation, technology, engineering entrepreneurship, and multicultural education.

Team Projects

Think creatively and critically to develop innovative project designs. Collaborate with other international participants and SJSU student mentors to develop a creative product or solution to a current tech problem. Team projects will be judged by SJSU professors and industry experts in a final competition.

 

 

Program features

  • Attend virtual lectures and workshops by industry experts from Silicon Valley
  • Participate in virtual team activities 
  • Work on projects with assigned SJSU student team member or mentor 
  • Participate in Competitive culminating project 
  • Use the access to Canvas (LMS system used by SJSU) to work on projects and collaborate with other participants
  • Receive a Certificate of completion at the end of the program
  • Receive support  to participate in Silicon Valley Innovation Challenge (SVIC) upon full completion of program

Program information 

The lectures will be delivered synchronously online by SJSU faculty with Silicon Valley work experience so that students will be able to learn both the theory and practice of each topic. Each day’s class activities will provide hands-on learning and engagement with each concept.  The program will introduce the basic concepts student teams need to propose a business idea and develop it into an opportunity.

Who Can Participate

Silicon Valley Innovation Boot Camp is designed for undergraduate students with a working knowledge of English who are interested in entrepreneurship. The program is geared towards participants who are motivated to learn, open to different ideas and seeking new experiences.

Program Cost

The program fee is $750.00 per participant. 

Price includes program materials, access to the LMS system and materials for four weeks after the final date of the program. 

Large cohorts from universities and programs that would like to participate in this event are welcome.
