International Freshman Applicant
Thank you for submitting your application to SJSU!
We encourage you to check your MySJSU account weekly for any deadlines, messages and/or documents required to complete your application to SJSU. A list of general deadlines is also available for quick review.
Review the Steps to Admission
Our International Freshman Steps to Admission provides an overview of the necessary steps to successfully complete the application process for SJSU.
Submit official SAT and/or ACT scores
International Freshman applicants are highly encouraged to submit official SAT (Evidence Based Reading and Writing and Math) or ACT composite scores.
You can view your current admission status on your MySJSU Student Center by scrolling to the bottom of the screen under Admissions and clicking on "View Status". You can reference our Admission Statuses page for detailed descriptions.
If you are admitted to SJSU, your I-20 will be mailed in your admission packet (if you live outside the U.S.). You will receive a time-sensitive MySJSU message shortly after being admitted that will encourage you to sign up for Express Mail within 72 hours. Express Mail allows you to track the shipment of your admit letter and I-20. If you are currently attending an institution within the U.S. you will need to have your SEVIS record transferred.
In the case that you do not meet the admission requirements or do not meet the impaction criteria for the term you have applied, you will be sent a message/letter with details on the appeals process. This message is time-sensitive so it is important that you check your MySJSU regularly. There is not an appeal process if you miss a deadline, such as missing a portion of the Next Steps Intent to Enroll process, test deadline, and/or document deadline.
