Join our weekly Global Connections meetup to connect with people from around the world, explore cultural topics, and learn tips for improving your overall well being.
Each week we rotate through different themes:
- S=Social: Meet others, play games, and hang out.
- C=Culture: Develop intercultural skills and explore cultural topics.
- W=Wellness: Tips & tricks to a healthy mind and body.
- D=Diversity in America: Learn, share, and ask about diversity in the U.S.
In fall 2022, we'll meet every Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (PT). Most sessions will be virtual, but there is one in-person meeting per month. Please refer to the schedule below. Everyone is welcome!

What do healthy personal and professional relationships look like across cultures? How do you connect with your classmates, professors, and staff here at SJSU? Join our discussion as we explore the many facets of interpersonal relationships.
September 7, 2022 | Mid-Autumn Festival Worldwide | Culture, Diversity | Online
Many cultures have festivals in the fall to celebrate the change of season or the harvest. Examples might include the Moon Festival or Mid-Autumn Celebration. Come and share your culture's fall traditions and learn about other fall festivals around the world.

Take a study break and get to know others through fun games! This event will take place in-person!
September 21, 2022 | Labels 101: Hispanic, Latino, Latinx, Latine | Diversity & Culture | In-person (Clark 125)
This event is more of a conversation for anyone who has wondered what is the proper way to call someone who identifies as Latino, Latina, Latinx, Latine, Latin*, Latinamerican or Hispanic. We will share a short article, have a conversation about it, and answer questions.

This session will focus on learning about ways to manage stress and how to try to engage in a balanced life. We will also discuss what wellness looks like across the globe as well and learn from each other on how we can take care of ourselves and others better!

Explore the meanings and origins of everyday expressions and learn how they might be different from what you're used to. Join our cultural discussion online to learn more.

Get into the Halloween spirit and join us for some fun Halloween-themed activities, including sharing ghost stories from around the world. This is an in-person event!
November 2, 2022 | Wellness 102: Compassion to You | Wellness | Online
This session will focus on learning about the elements of self-compassion and thinking about how we can kind to ourselves in ways that fit our cultural background and who we are. While it may be easy to think that we should be kind to ourselves, this is easier said than done. Come join us to learn about how to be compassionate to ourselves and how this can enrich our lives further such as being more productive!
