What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is connecting with students from diverse backgrounds. In addition to guiding students through their educational, personal and career journeys, I also enjoy serving as a source of support for them. My door is always open for my students if they should ever need additional assistance.
What advice do you have for SJSU Undergraduate Spartans?
Use all of your available resources. SJSU has numerous resources on campus that can support you, if needed. Additionally, join an organization so you can meet other students and to feel more connected to the campus. There are also events at SJSU such as guest speakers and and other fun activities like movie nights. Most importantly, don't be afraid to ask questions!
What's the best class you've ever taken?
MUSC 120, Jazz in America, was the best and most memorable class I have ever taken.
My instructor was a jazz musician himself and he often brought live bands to the classroom.
He was also very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the subject which captivated
my attention. This is where my love of jazz music began.
