Undergraduate internship

An internship appropriate to satisfy requirements towards the BS applied math concentration in Statistics or BS in statistics:

  • Should have relevant statistical content. That means that work performed by the student should contain statistical techniques that are typically taught in upper division level statistics courses.
  • A 3-unit internship should contain at least 150 hours of work (or 50 hours per unit).
  • A qualified statistical supervisor must be available. This person should hold at least a master’s degree in statistics or hold at least a master’s degree in a field closely related to statistics and have relevant documentable experience in statistics. 

Graduate internship

An internship appropriate to satisfy requirements towards the MS in statistics:

  • Should have relevant statistical content. That means that work performed by the student should contain statistical techniques that are typically taught in graduate level statistics courses.
  • A 3-unit internship should contain at least 150 hours of work (or 50 hours per unit).
  • A qualified statistical supervisor must be available. This person should hold at least a master’s degree in statistics or hold at least a master’s degree in a field closely related to statistics and have relevant documentable experience in statistics.
