Alrick Green

Alrick was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, but later migrated to the United States in 2009.  In 2015, he received his B.A in Applied Science and Mathematics from Berea College in Kentucky. He is currently in his last semester of his masters degree in Meteorology at San Jose State University. His research interests include numerical modeling, tropical meteorology, storm dynamics, and weather forecasting. His current research focuses on understanding the role of eddy vorticity fluxes on rapidly intensifying tropical cyclones in sheared environments.  During his spare time, Alrick enjoys exploring the Bay Area, bonfires on the beach, travelling throughout California, camping, and cooking.

Mohin Patel

Mohin Patel grew up in Clifton, New Jersey, and received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Applied Atmospheric Science and a GIS certificate from East Carolina University. He works with NASA AMES Research Center, specifically with NASA's CALIPSO Satellite in addition to pursuing his Master's degree. His research interests consist of Atmospheric Dynamics, Atmospheric Chemistry, and Oceanic & Atmospheric interactions. When he is not doing research, he enjoys spending time at his local mandir, going outdoors, playing board games, and making others laugh. His greatest inspiration is his guru, Pramukh Swami Maharaj, who motivates him to utilize his education and talent to help humanity.

Paul Zechiel

Paul grew up in Southern California and graduated in 2018 with a B.S. in Meteorology here at San Jose State. He became interested in Meteorology after storm chasing thunderstorms in Southern California. He is currently working towards his masters degree in Meteorology at San Jose State University. His research interests include severe weather, numerical modeling, and weather forecasting. In his free time, Paul enjoys playing/watching sports, listening to music, and hanging out with friends.

Hana Jafary

Hananeh was born in Tehran, Iran and later moved to Southern California in 2005. She developed an interest in meteorology after observing snowstorms and learning about cloud classifications. She received her bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of California Davis and began her career at the California Air Resources Board. Hananeh is interest in severe weather, tropical cyclones. She enjoys taking landscape photography and spending time with her family during her spare time.

Amy

Amy Ip

After completing her undergraduate studies from UC Berkeley in Environmental Sciences, Amy worked in the pharmaceutical industry before returning to academics. She is currently working on her master's in meteorology at San Jose State University. Inspiration to enter the meteorology came from learning about cloud types in elementary school and watching Stormchasers. Her research interests include cloud microphysics, numerical modeling and storm dynamics. During her spare time, Amy enjoys painting with her growing toddler, baking, and watching TV with her family.
