Bachelors of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) HR Degree Aligns with the Society of Human Resource Management.
The Bachelors of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a Concentration in HRM offered by the School of Management at San Jose State University fully aligns with SHRM’s HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates. The guidelines -- created in 2006 and revalidated in 2010 and 2013 -- are part of SHRM’s Academic Initiative to define HR education standards taught in university business schools and help universities develop degree programs that follow these standards.
HR Students Get Second Place in SHRM Case Competition
In March 2017 two Student teams, one in the Division I category, and the other in
the Division II category, participated in the SHRM Case Competition in March 2017
in Houston, TX. The Division II Team won 2nd place in the competition!! Congratulations!
AIM Wins the Annual Business Olympics
In April 2017, the new student organization, Advancement Institute for Management
took home the gold at the 6th Annual Business Olympics. Some
of the main events included volleyball, ultimate frisbee, an obstacle course,
water balloon toss, basketball, and
eating competition.
SHRM@SJSU Hosts HR Graduation
In May 2017, the student organization SHRM@SJSU hosted their annual HR Graduation for students and members graduating in 2017. Family and friends were invited to celebrate the graduates achievements. A special guest speaker, Jon Decoteau SHRM-SCP, Divisional Director for West and State of California Field Service Leader for SHRM, spoke on how a career in HR can impact you.
