Native of Puerto Rico. Currently, Professor, Dept. of Elementary Education, San Jose State University, San Jose, CA. Areas of expertise and instruction: language and literacy development, working with culturally/linguistically diverse families and their young children, advanced literacy development with a focus on comprehension at the middle and high school levels.
