Bio

Dr. Isarin Durongkadej started his journey with San Jose State University (SJSU) in the fall of 2023. He was born in Bangkok, Thailand. Dr. Durongkadej received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Thammasat University in Thailand. After that, he worked as an Investment Consultant at TMB Asset Management Co. for three years. His roles as an Investment Consultant were giving clients investment advice and trading stocks, commodities, and structured notes. Later, he liked to explore more about the world and decided to come to study his Master Degree at Oklahoma State University (OSU), his father’s alma mater. He enjoyed OSU and finance so much that he received three degrees from there: MBA, MS in Finance, and PhD in Finance. He received his PhD in 2019, and, shortly after, he was also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) holder. After his PhD, he worked at Georgia College and State University (GCSU) for four years before he decided to join SJSU. Not only does he enjoy teaching and researching, he also enjoys helping students outside the classroom. Among more than hundred student clubs at GCSU, he was named the best Faculty Advisor for his advisor role in the Finance Club at GCSU in 2022. His research focuses on corporate finance, bond, and banking. In his free time, he likes hiking, running, and playing guitar.
