Bio
I have an extensive career in construction, both as a contractor and developer. I
recently sold my remaining interest in Appian Engineering, a general engineering contractor,
though I remain an indepenedent member on the Board of Directors. I also serve on
other Boards and consult with various businesses.
The two college subjects that most aided my success in business are accounting and
economics. Familiarity with accounting allowed me to fully understand and manage my
company's operations, profit, and losses. Economics gave me the critical thinking
skills to solve problems others overlooked.
I returned to SJSU in 1999, completed my Bachelor's degree in 2003, and stayed to
