Bio

Richard P. Kubelka is a native Californian, educated at Georg August Universität in Göttingen, Germany, UC Berkeley (where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa) and Stanford University. His dissertation topic was in algebraic topology. After spending three years at the University of Oklahoma as a Visiting Assistant Professor, Dr. Kubelka came to San Jose State in 1983. Dr. Kubelka's mathematical interests include algebraic and geometric topology, number theory, and statistics. He collects dictionaries and loves to travel: he has been to 45 states and 67 countries. Dr. Kubelka was named Professor Emeritus in January of 2021.
