"Born and raised in San Jose and a proud Spartan, Shuan recently earned his M.A. in Political Science/Political Psychology from Stony Brook University after graduating from San Jose State with department an academic honors. His master's thesis "The Power of Place Divides Us: Place-Based Social Identity's Role in Polarizing America," investigates the relationship between place (i.e., where people live), place-based identity (i.e., the type of place people identify with), and affective polarization (i.e., the political divide).
Shuan's interests span political psychology, political behavior, public opinion, and political geography. He loves discussing elections and has a long-held fascination with history. Currently, he is a lecturer at San Jose State University but intends to pursue a Ph.D. in the near future"
