We print diplomas using your primary name listed in MySJSU. To see how your name will appear on your diploma, run a copy of your unnofficial transcript. The name will be the same on both documents. To update your name, submit the Personal Information Change [pdf] form.
The Office of the Registrar prints diplomas on a rolling basis. You can expect to
receive your diploma about 3-6 weeks after we award your degree.
We currently send diplomas by US First Class Mail to the Diploma or Mailing address
listed in MySJSU. We do not offer express delivery using couriers such as FedEx or
UPS, so we cannot provide any tracking information.
Students are responsible for keeping a current Diploma/Mailing address in MySJSU. This should be an address that will be available to you 2-3 months after we award your degree. If you are unable to update your address in MySJSU, you may submit the Personal Information Change [pdf] form.
We will send diplomas to international addresses. However, the format of these addresses may vary. If you wish to use an international address, please update MySJSU and send us an email to ensure we get your address in the correct format.
The Office of the Registrar will only send your diploma. If you are entitled to any honors, regalia, or other commencement materials, please contact the commencement team.
If you have not received your diploma nor a hold letter within two months from the end of the semester, please email your evaluator.
If you need to replace your diploma or need additional copies, please use the appropiate link below to submit your request online. A $10 per diploma fee applies. Bachelor degree students have the option to submit a paper form and pay by check.
If you have both a master and bachelor degree from SJSU, you must submit a separate request for each degree.
To qualify for Latin Honors, both your SJSU Cumulative GPA and your All College GPA
must meet the minimum requirements. Honors will be noted on both your diploma and
transcript. If you have questions about medallions, contact the Commencement Team.
