Who We Are
We are a lending library for hands-on science resources! The Science Education Resource Center (SERC) at San José State University is a unique educational resource center that houses over 5000 science resources in the thematic areas of Earth Science, Physical/Space Science, and Life Science. We strive to facilitate the delivery of high quality, inquiry-based preK-12 grade instruction and to supplement and enrich the science curriculum in the classrooms and out community. Our users include in-service & pre-service teachers, SJSU students, and staff, faculty. Our patrons can check out science equipment, biofacts, models, books, and posters. They can also become certified in our Wildlife Ambassador program and be allowed to bring animals such as a snake or tortoise into their classroom.

At the Science Education Resource Center (SERC) we are committed to inspiring and assisting educators & SJSU students to teach STEM content by providing free resources, programs and consultation with the ultimate goal of helping their students to connect, discover, and explore the world of science.
