SERC Wildlife Ambassador Workshop
Did you know that SJSU’s Science Education Resource Center has a collection of Wildlife Ambassadors including snakes, frogs, tortoises, a tarantula, and more, available for use in your classroom? Using live animals in the classroom can stimulate student interest, develop observational skills, illustrate principles of behavior and adaptation, and promote positive attitudes toward living things and the natural world.
In order to bring these animals into your classroom, you must attend a Science LIVE orientation. We will discuss incorporating live animals into your science lessons and classroom, transport and care procedures, and proper handling techniques for those who are interested. Science LIVE is open to pre-service and practicing K-12 teachers.
Check out our Wildlife Ambassador/Environmental Science Curriculum.
Contact SERC Director at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange for training or for more information.
