Checking-out SERC Resources
Contact the SERC staff at serc@sjsu.edu to inquire about resource availability or make an appointment to view & check-out resources. When inquiring about a resource, it is helpful if you provide the name and 4-digit barcode that can be found in the pdf files on the Available Resources Page.
Resources can be checked out for up to two weeks. Resources can not be borrowed for use in fee-based programs, such as summer camps.
You must fill out an initial registration form and present a valid California ID or driver's license, or SJSU ID.
Returning Materials
All borrowed materials should be returned to the Resource Center by making an appointment with the SERC Staff. The nature of the Resource Center materials precludes us from having a "drop box." Please do not leave materials outside the door. All materials must be returned by their due date, clean, and in working order. You may be charged a fee for damage, lost, and/or late returned resources. If you have any questions, contact the SERC Staff.
Wildlife Ambassadors
SERC has Wildlife Ambassadors, including snakes, turtles, tortoises, & frogs, available to visit in your classroom for a couple days.
Wildlife Ambassador lessons give students the opportunity to make observations about animal behaviors, adaptations, and anatomy of living beings that they rarely have the opportunity to see up close. Learn more about the Wildlife Ambassador program here.
