Online/Hybrid FAQs

SJSU’s School of Social Work is excited to offer a new Master of Social Work (MSW) degree program which was founded in Fall 2016. This is an online/hybrid program, fully accredited by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE), that can open new employment opportunities to you.

Complete your degree in only two years and one summer, allowing you more flexibility to maintain your employment, and attend classes and complete internship requirements in a more manageable format close to home. In this Online/Hybrid MSW program, academic courses are completed online (via asynchronous sessions and synchronous sessions, usually held on weekday evenings), and field education is completed in-person.

The Online/Hybrid MSW Program is a 2-year program that requires continuous part-time enrollment for 2 full calendar years. Average enrollment is in 2 academic courses and field education concurrently throughout the program. In this program, academic courses are completed online and field education is completed in-person.

Currently only those living in California can attend.
