Student Transition and Retention Services
Supporting Spartans all the way to the finish line.
The departments in Student Transition and Retention Services (STARS) provide specialized resources to help students from all backgrounds stay in school and graduate.
We provide a gathering space as well as campus programs such as peer mentoring and student mixers.
We provide support to first generation and/or low income, disabled and underrepresented students.
“Centro” provides a meeting place as well as advising, workshops, cultural programs, and more.
We provide support services to help first-generation, low-income, and foster care students succeed at SJSU.
We help first generation, low income, or underrepresented students apply to doctoral programs.
We provide support for new SJSU students and families to help ease your transition to our campus community.
We provide financial aid resources and legal help for undocumented students—and connect them with supporters.
