Pool Schedule + Swim Zones
Dear valued TC pool members,
As most of you are aware, there is a national shortage of lifeguards. And while we are fortunate to have a fully functioning pool when many pools across the county are closed or have significantly reduced hours due to lack of staffing, the Timpany Center continues to face the challenge of utilizing the pool in creative ways.
One of our biggest challenges is Monday through Friday, 2:00pm-5:00pm when swim lessons are occurring at the same time members are using the swim lanes. In the interest of safety and maintaining a harmonious swimming community we will be implementing designated swim lesson zones as a policy for sharing the space. Swim lesson instructors will make every effort to adhere to three zones across the pool:
- Zone 1 is the shallow end closest to the rear exit
- Zone 2 is the swimming lane with the backstroke flags draped above
- Zone 3 is a section of the fitness class area (a lane-line has been created to bisect the
area)
Visual elements will be used to communicate when and where lessons are being conducted. Signage will be placed in each of the zones.
Instructors will be wearing blue TC instructor shirts with the logos below.

Occasionally the environment, instructional delivery, equipment, and/or rules may
need to be modified to provide an appropriate, safe and comfortable educational setting
for some of our swim lesson students with disabilities. We ask that swim instructors,
lifeguards and patrons communicate effectively and work together to share the pool.
