Free Immigration Legal Support Services
Direct immigration legal services are available free of charge to ALL CSU students, employees, and their immediate families. At SJSU, individuals can schedule an appointment with an immigration attorney from Immigrant Legal Defense (ILD), a nonprofit agency dedicated to providing immigration legal services. ILD’s mission is to promote justice through the provision of legal representation to underserved immigrant communities. ILD serves students, staff, faculty & families at CSU campuses in the Central Valley, Central Coast, and Bay Area.
Consultations During Winter Break: Individuals can request a consultation during the winter break (January 4th-22nd)
Spring 2021 Dates:
Services include (but not limited to):
- detained and non-detained deportation (court) defense,
- family petitions,
- U & T visas,
- applications for lawful permanent resident status,
ILD will continue to provide consultations and case representation in all forms of immigration cases.
These services are available at no cost to CSU students, staff and faculty.
Translation services available upon request.

Immigration Services (California Department of Social Services): The California Department of Social Services funds programs at community based organizations that help immigrants who live in California. The programs offer many types of free legal services, as well as information about other services that support immigrants such as outreach, community education, and other immigration remedies.
