Updates to CSULearn Courses - THIS WEEK!

The CSU will be making updates to the following CSULearn compliance courses effective July 9, 2021. These updates will help improve the overall user experience.
  • The following courses impact all employees:
    • Data Security and FERPA
    • Gender Equity and Title IX
    • Mandated Reporter (this course is optional but recommended)
  • The following courses only impact those employees whose job requires this type of training:
    • Protecting Payment Card Information (PCI DSS)
    • Red Flags: Preventing Identity Theft
    • HIPAA: Protecting Patient Privacy
    • Understanding the Clery Act
    • Avoiding Conflicts of Interest
These updates will effectively reset the courses to start over from the beginning so that the progress on any uncompleted courses will be lost. It is critical that you check to see if you have any courses that are currently in-progress. If you do, please complete them prior to Thursday, July 8, 2021. If all assigned courses have been completed or have not been started, there is no action required.

To confirm the completion status of these courses follow these steps:
     1. Log in to CSULearn
     2. Click Assigned Learning
    • If one of the impacted courses is listed and shows VIEW DETAILS, it means you started the course and it is in progress.
    • Click the VIEW DETAILS button to continue with the course and complete it by the required due date.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while the system undergoes this critical update. If you have questions or technical difficulties with your course(s), please email

Foundations of Communication will help you le arn how to communicate more effectively.

This course helps you communicate better in a variety of professional situations, including meetings, email messages, pitches, and presentations. Instructors Tatiana Kolovou and Brenda Bailey-Hughes introduce the four building blocks of communication—people, message, context, and listening—and show how they apply in different circumstances. Through the use of vignettes and applied tools, the course shows how to build this core competency and communicate in a way that effectively and professionally conveys your message.

One-Minute Habits for Success is a new course designed to help you develop a mindset for success by showing you how to improve your self-confidence and mentally prepare yourself to thrive under pressure.

As Scott Mautz explains, success comes from habits, and habits are more easily formed from simple, repeatable exercises. In each part of this course, Scott gives you short mindset, skillset, and reset habits to choose from to create your own tailored routine for success. After this course, you’ll have a wider skillset for success to help you to refocus, refresh, and avoid the procrastination that often comes with increased responsibilities and stress.

Q: Do I have to fill out a student admission application in order to take classes using fee waiver?

A: It depends on the type of fee waiver you choose to use.

If you are working toward a degree using the Career Development fee waiver, you are required to apply to the CSU of your choice. Applying for CSU admission is a separate process from applying for fee waiver.

If you are not working toward a degree but are taking job-related classes, the Job Related Fee Waiver Application acts as an application to the University.
