Department Chairs & Directors

Department Chairs & Directors are defined as any Unit 3 employee who oversees an academic department or school and has staff or faculty employees reporting to them. For the purposes of CHRS Recruiting, Department Chairs & Directors are considered Hiring Managers.


  • Individuals in these positions will be automatically granted access to do the following things in the CHRS Recruiting system:
    • Create Job Cards (initiate recruitments)
    • Move Applications through the Process (when listed as the Hiring Manager for the position)
    • Screen Applications and Evaluate Interviews (when listed as the Hiring Manager for the position or as a chair/member of a search committee)

  • Recommended: Approve Job Cards, Managing Recruitments, Screening Applications & Evaluating Interviews, Initiate Recruitments
