WIRC computing facilities

WIRC modeling team has access to Spartan computing cluster.

Spartan cluster
Spartan is a dedicated data-intensive High Performance Computer (HPC) designed by Advanced Clustering Technologies and the College of science at San Jose State University consisting of 72 compute node, 2 high memory nodes, and 4 GPU nodes and 2 login nodes, for a total of 2152 compute cores and 23040 GPU cores. With 328TB of nfs storage for home directories, 262TB of high speed parallel storage used as scratch space. Each compute node have two 14-core Xeon E5-2680 v4 2.4GHz (Broadwell) processors, 128GB DDR4 RAM. Each high memory node have two 6 core Xeon E5-2643 v4 3.4GHz w/ 3.7Ghz turbo mode (Broadwell) processors, and 512GB DDR4 RAM. Each GPU node have two 14-core Xeon E5-2680 v4 2.4GHz (Broadwell) processors, 128GB DDR4 RAM, and 2 Nvidia Tesla K40 GPUs. Each login node have 2 14-core Xeon E5-2680 v4 @ 2.4GHz and 64GB DDR4 Memory.
