Wound Course Description

The wound course is a theory-based continuing education course incorporating simulation, psychomotor skills, and clinical practice. Students develop the knowledge and skills to assess selected disorders of the integumentary and arterial-venous systems and to manage wounds, fistulas, percutaneous tubes, and pressure ulcers.

Students enrolling in the wound course are required to complete the pressure ulcer training at the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators® (NDNQI®) and show proof of CEUs prior to starting of the course. Website can be accessed at: NDNQI Pressure Ulcer Training

Ostomy Course Description

The ostomy course is a theory-based continuing education course incorporating simulation, psychomotor skills, and clinical practice. Students develop the knowledge and skills to assess selected disorders of the gastrointestinal and genitourinary systems and to manage fecal and urinary diversions, continent diversions, fistulas, and percutaneous tubes.
