Bio

Dr. Glenn M. Callaghan earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nevada in 1998. Dr. Callaghan joined San Jose State University in the Fall of 1998 and is Professor of Psychology.

Currently, Dr. Callaghan maintains several active lines of research:
Research investigating body dysmorphic disorder and body image disturbances and alternative, acceptance based strategies for coping;

Research examining psychotherapy process and outcome in interpersonal psychotherapies, specifically, Fucntional Analytic Psychotherapy;

Research developing alternative approaches to nosological and nomothetic assessment of psychopathology, specifically, the Functional Idiographic Assessment Template;

Research on direct to consumer marketing of psychotropic medications and the accuracy of self-diagnosing and appropriate medication seeking by viewers of drug advertisments.
