Student Organizations

The Career Center is proud to collaborate with Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) to support career exploration and employer/alumni networking events.  As leaders on campus, student organizations can work with the Career Center to offer their members professional development opportunities.  Check out the following career programs and events for RSOs. 

Select RSOs that want to collaborate with the Career Center on customized training and events which feature employers are invited to participate in our following programs.  Both the Professional Development and Student Organization Partner Pogram (SOPP) require a commitment to professionalism during events as well as an ability to co-host, co-brand, and market events to organization members.  Some events require pre-event training and preparation (resume development, event planning, and/or networking overview) to ensure that students feel confident and prepared when networking with employers through specialized events. 

Professional Development & Training

Offer your members training to prepare for career succes!  Our team of career counselors/coaches provide interactive training and development on various career topics.  We also work with employer partners to participate in these events.

Our most popular topics include:  Resume Writing, Networking for Success, LinkedIn Profile Review, Internship & Job Search, Mentoring, and Exploring Careers.

Student Organization Partner Program (SOPP)

The SOPP is a collaborative program between the Career Center and Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs). The partnership is designed to connect RSOs with employers for career connection events such as panels and career talks, and inclusion in resume books.

• What are the benefits of being a partner in the program?

  • Increased Employer Connections: Partner organizations will be featured as an approved career-minded organization on the Career Center website so that employers can directly connect with your leadership to coordinate career panels, networking, and training events. Partner organization must maintain an updated webpage and contact information.

    Resume Preparation & Submission: Employers recognize partner organization as professional and eager to build experience. Your members will have the option to submit their resumes directly to employers that are actively recruiting through our resume book service. Your members will also be able to attend a resume workshop to ensure your resumes are in top shape as they are sent directly to employers.

    Annual SOPP Employer Networking Events: Career Center will host an annual networking event with employer partners exclusively for SOPP (date TBD).

    Increased Brand Recognition: The partnership status can be used to promote your organization to help increase membership. Selected partners stand out from the other 400+ campus organizations as leaders and innovators, dedicated to offering their members unique career and professional development opportunities.

• What are the requirements to become a partner?

  • Must be an RSO in good standing (Click here to view the list of approved RSOs).

    Must have a website with up-to-date contact information for RSO leadership and club advisor.

    Must demonstrate professionalism when working with employer/s (in all communications, meet commitments and deadlines, punctuality at all events) and respond to employer inquiries within two business days.

    Ensure that at least 20 students are in attendance at each event.

    Have at least one member meet with the employer on the day of your event. (Virtually or in-person depending on event).

    All activities must meet EEO laws and requirements as well as NACE Guidelines for Faculty/Faculty Advisors.

• How does an RSO become a partner?

  • Submit the online application by Wednesday, August 31st. 

    Attend the virtual SOPP orientation session on Friday, September 9th (or the recorded session).

    Agree to the following Employer Engagement Services & Expectations.
