Bio
Jelena Gligorijevic is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at San José State University. She received her Ph.D. in Computer and Information Sciences from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA in 2018, and her B.S. and M.S. in Information Systems and Technologies from University of Belgrade, Serbia. Her research interests include topics in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Mining, Knowledge Graphs, User Understanding, Computational Advertising, Computational Healthcare. Currently, her research focuses on knowledge-driven machine learning by integrating structured knowledge (e.g., knowledge graphs, domain expertise, prior context) with large-scale data and modern AI systems. Her goal is to develop transparent, reliable, and impactful AI that not only learns from data, but also reasons with knowledge. She collaborates across disciplines to develop reliable AI methods that support societally relevant applications.
