Using the web for research offers more than search engines. You can find quotations, currency translations, information from the CIA, even phone numbers online. A growing collection of top-notch reference tools is available on the pull-down menu. To add to this collection, please email me the title and address of your suggestion.
Some of the most impressive online research tools are available in what is often called Invisible Web - pages that aren't easily retrievable by public servers. The Invisible Web includes intranets kept behind corporate firewalls, but it also includes newspaper archives, fee-based databases, and other gold-mines of information. You can access much of the invisible web through the library's collection of full text resources. One of the best "invisible" resources available is called Lexis Nexis. It is a web-based archive of full text newspaper articles, magazine pieces, legal documents, and other materials.
