William Campsey, professor of accounting and finance, has been named the new Faculty Athletics Representative, effective immediately. Campsey will have major responsibility in athletics compliance and academic integrity. He will also work closely with faculty, students, the director of athletics, director of compliance, the athletics board, the president's office, and other athletics division personnel to support a campus environment in which the athletics program can be a vital component of the educational program. Jerri Carmo, formerly director of the Office of Sponsored Programs, has been promoted to the new position of deputy chief operating officer. Carmo is now responsible for overseeing all gift and fee-supported programs. She will also serve as key advisor to an interim chief operating officer while Mary Sidney takes a three-month family leave to welcome an adopted newborn. Contact Carmo at jcarmo@foundation.sjsu.edu.
