SJSU's Career Center won the 2008 National Association of Colleges and Employers/Chevron Excellence Award, which honors institutions for developing groundbreaking programs. SJSU was recognized for its five-part online video series, "The Internship Journey."
Research conducted by Leamor Kahanov, associate professor of kinesiology, and graduate student Ayako Yoshida was mentioned recently in a New York Times blog. The blog was an explication of the quirky athletic tape worn by 2008 Olympic volleyball player Kerri Walsh. The study, published in Research in Sports Medicine, found the "use of the tape along the lower trunk area appeared to increase the range of motion."
Marques Reitzel, a former SJSU art faculty member, will be featured in an upcoming History San José exhibit. "Marques E. Reitzel: Biographer in Paint" will open Friday, April 10, 2009 at the Leonard and David McKay Gallery. The exhibit will consist of more than 25 paintings, most from private collections. History San José is seeking more examples of Reitzel's work, including his signature landscape paintings.
