What Can You Do With a Certificate in Transportation Management?
A Certificate in Transportation Management allows you to master advanced policy, financial and management frameworks and build specialized regional planning skills.
It prepares you to act as a progressive "mobility manager" — the next generation of multimodal transportation system executives. Even better, the 12 units of graduate credit earned can be applied directly toward the full Master of Science in Transportation Management (MSTM) degree if you choose to continue your education later.
- In-Demand Skills: Modern transportation networks face unprecedented demands for rapid technology adoption, environmental resilience and equity. This certificate provides targeted business skills that standard civil engineering or general MBA programs lack.
- High-Value Markets: California commands the nation's most complex and heavily funded transit networks (BART, Caltrain, LA Metro and CHSR), ensuring strong regional job security and upward mobility.
- Bay Area Salaries: Transportation Managers, Transit Superintendents and Logistics Directors in the Bay Area rank among the highest-compensated public and private infrastructure leaders in the nation, earning an average annual salary of $97,000 - $149,000, according to Glassdoor.
