FREN 170 - Translation Theory & Practice

Time: Fall 2014: Online Class taught on Wednesdays, 17:00-19:30

Description

Theory and practice of translation for various purposes including literary, scientific, and professional ones. Comparative stylistics of English and French. Course Objectives: Increase reading and cultural competencies to ACTFL Advanced plus level and CEFR B2-C1. The class will be taught online.

Assignments

Vocabulary and translation exercises every other week;

Two at-home exams, open books;

Two Translations of 500-word texts.
