The Silicon Valley Big Data and Cybersecurity Center is seeking the opportunity to form collaborative relations with companies to jointly engage in the following activities related to data science and cybersecurity:

• Form a consortium of academic and industry members
• Develop in-person and online training programs
• Recruit instructors and participants of training programs
• Build a platform to enable consulting services
• Conduct product prototyping and testing
• Provide workforce and product certification services
• Participate in research projects and publications
• Generate proposals to secure private and public funding

The Center regularly organizes campus events with its academic and industry partners, including the annual CyberAware Day, in partnership with Ohlone College, during the National Cybersecurity Career Awareness Week. The 2019 CyberAware Day featured experts from OKTA, TrendMicro, Oath, Sumologic, Autodesk, SentinelOne, Oportun, etc. The 2020 CyberAware Day became virtual and highlighted executives from Trend Micro, ServiceNow and Palo Alto Networks. The Center faculty members are involved with the cybersecurity education community via active participation in the NICE Working Group. The National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) is led by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the U.S. Department of Commerce. One center member took on a leadership role in its K-12 sub-group few years ago. The Center also has global partners to promote cybersecurity knowledge sharing beyond the US. The Center, in partnership with the Silicon Valley Center for Global Studies, established a memorandum of understanding to promote cybersecurity with the Hong Kong Electronics and Technologies Association.

The Center is also cooperating with other SJSU centers and units to further augment its capability to serve the students and communities. For example, Mineta Transportation Institute (MTI) is hosted in the Lucas Graduate School of Business at SJSU. Department of Homeland Security designed MTI by the as a National Transportation Security Center of Excellence. Bay Area Retail Leadership Center at SJSU has been conducting various activities with its member companies such as E&J Gallo, Macy's, Ross, Sherwin-Williams, Southern Wine and Spirits, Target and Whole Foods, etc. Graduate & Extended Studies of the Charles W. Davison College of Engineering has established extensive relationships with Silicon Valley major corporations such as Cisco, IBM, KLA Tencor, Lam Research, Lockheed Martin, etc.
