This page is devoted to the study of Miguel de Cervantes' prose romance Don Quixote de la Mancha, as translated by Samuel Putnam. It contains a brief biography of the author, a list of links to related web pages, and annotations for Don Quixote. To navigate through this site, just click on the buttons in the left-hand column.
The annotation pages are keyed to the abridged version of Don Quixote in the first volume of the expanded edition of the Norton Anthology of World Masterpieces (1995). The annotations were a class project for Humanities 2A, an undergraduate survey course at San Jose State University, during Fall, 1999. Students participating include Thomas Allen, Shaun Brune, Sean Davidson, Ali Fard, Vijay Kamath, Phillip Mamuyac, Chris Markovic, Brittany McDaniel, Rich Menchavez, Christina Miller, Jeffrey Munsen, Leng Ou, Jeannette Reiff, Tanya Saracino, Nicholas Scott, Marci Somers, Michelle Suarez, Kathleen Sullivan, Stephanie Sutton, Anne Tampol, Alison Throckmorton, and Timothy Walker.
