Faculty Opportunities Abroad

SJSU Faculty-Led Programs

SJSU faculty are invited to plan and lead academic courses abroad for 3-8 weeks during the summer term or winter intersession on a Special-Session basis. Besides providing students with a short-term option for studying abroad, these programs are intended to encourage faculty to increase their field knowledge and bring back ideas for internationalizing the SJSU campus. Support services are provided by International Programs and Services (IPS) and seed-money grants are available.

SJSU Spring Semester in Bath England

SJSU faculty are invited to apply to teach full-time for the SJSU spring semester on the Bath, England program. Applications are available from the Office of Dean of the College of Humanities and the Arts. For more information on the Bath program, please see the Bath program link.

SJSU Bilateral Programs

Although there are not any formal faculty exchange programs, SJSU faculty can make contact with any of SJSU's bilateral partner institutions to explore various possibilities for collaboration. Some opportunities include: joint research, teaching while on sabbatical and guest lecturing. Please see the Study Abroad Coordinator to get contacts at partner universities.

CSU IP Resident Director Opportunities

Each year the CSU International Programs recruits faculty to serve as Resident Directors (RDs) in a number of its study abroad programs. These positions represent one of the best chances within the CSU to work and live for an academic year in the following countries: China, France, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, or Zimbabwe.
