Why Study Abroad in Bath, England?
Realize your academic goals while immersing yourself in day-to-day
British life and culture. Loved and respected for her museums, theatre,
architecture, and academic institutions-not to mention those famous
English institutions, Tea and the Pub-England has something to offer
everyone. You will appreciate the abundance of opportunities available,
whether your interests lie in literature, history, arts, or nightlife.
The city of Bath is located a short distance southeast of Bristol and
about 90 miles west of London. The city and environs are rich in Roman
history, and Bath's architecture is among the most distinctive in Great
Britain. Between studies, take time to explore the gardens, parks and
courtyards of the city. Aerial

Surround yourself in the Georgian elegance of the city of Bath, a lively
city with theatre, music, museums and art galleries. Later in the evening,
take part in a torch lit tour of the steaming, murky waters of the Great
Bath, where the fashionable British elite went for respite and health
in the 18th century. World-renowned theatre, museums, and multi-cultural
opportunities await discovery in London, the heart of the British social
and political life.
Program Features 
- Take regular courses taught
by SJSU faculty
- Earn 15 units of upper division credits for completed
courses, including some upper division General Education requirements
- Gain practical intercultural work experience by
participating in a supervised internship with community organizations
- Live with a British family
in the elegant city of Bath
- Study British history and
culture on-site with weekly field trips to archaeological sites, castles,
museums, and cathedrals
- Take overnight trips to London
- Travel independently around
the British Isles and continental Europe during study breaks
- Make life-long friendships
with other SJSU students and the British people that you meet
Eligibility Requirements 
- Must be at least a second semester sophomore by
the semester of departure.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above. (Students
with a cumulative GPA below the stipulated level will be considered
when special circumstances exist, such as demonstrated significant
improvement in recent academic work.)
- Completion of Writing Skills Test (WST) before departure
for program.
Academic Program 
Most courses are taught by SJSU faculty with extensive international
experience. Students must enroll in a minimum of 15 units. All students
are required to enroll in History 151C. Students are also strongly encouraged
to enroll in the internship course, which offers practical work experience
in one's academic field. All advanced GE classes require completion
of core GE and satisfaction of the Writing Skills Test (WST).

Academic Course Requirement 
- Students must be enrolled in at least 15 units
- All Students are required to take the History 151C
course, and to accompany the class on the fieldtrips associated with
that course.
Financing Your Semester 
Students pay their normal SJSU tuition, campus fees, and program expenses through SJSU. Students can apply all their financial aid (grants, loans, scholarships) except work study. There will be a small number of Bath scholarships available.

Program costs are subject to change due to increases in SJSU tuition/fees
or large fluctuations in the exchange rate.
These are estimated costs for the whole semester, and do not include
personal expenses such as lunch, books, entertainment and independent
travel.
Personal expenses are estimated to be around $2000 for the semester.
Students who will be doing a lot of traveling on weekends, during the
school break and after completing the program should estimate higher.
Program fees include:
Roundtrip airfare on program dates (San Francisco/London/San Francisco),
group transfers to/from overseas airport, private room in British home,
daily continental breakfast and dinner while in the home stay, walking
tour of Bath, local bus pass for the duration of the program (except
during Spring Break), pre-departure and host-cultural orientations,
travel and safety seminar, all excursions included in program, medical
and travel insurance, and farewell party.
