Brisbane, Australia
QUT's three campuses are located in Brisbane, the capital city of the
state of Queensland, Australia. Brisbane is a large and diverse multicultural
city with a population of 1.6 million people. This modern and vibrant
city is small enough to be welcoming while still big enough to have
all the attractions you would expect of a major city, including a highly
centralized public transit system and a host of festivals, exhibitions
and performance art. Brisbane is known as Australias most livable
city because it is clean and safe, and has a subtropical climate of
warm summers and cool, sunny winters. It is also one of the most affordable
cities in Australia, which means that the city can be enjoyed even on
a student budget. Popular student activities include surfing at Point
Lookout on North Stradbroke Island, whale-watching at Hervey Bay, and
adventure-packed weekends of abseiling, camping, horseback riding at
Picnic Point, which is close to Toowoomba.
