Overview
of SJSU Study Abroad Programs
SJSU students have the
opportunity to study abroad on certified programs in over 200 universities
in more than 40 countries. Programs are offered in English and sometimes
in the language of the host country. Most of the programs have the following
features:
- Earn SJSU "resident credit" for all completed
courses
- Pay normal SJSU tuition and fees on most programs
- Use your financial aid and apply for study abroad
scholarships
- Immerse yourself in another culture
- Learn another language on many programs
- Study is available in most academic fields
- Go abroad for an academic year, semester, summer
or short-term program
Types of Programs

offers six types of certified programs to meet the various needs of
all students:

Bilateral Programs
- Direct reciprocal exchanges between SJSU and universities
abroad

- Academic year, semester and summer options
SJSU
Spring Semester in Bath, England
- Courses taught at Bath Spa University by SJSU and
local professors

Most courses are in Humanities & Social Sciences, and include
Advanced G.E. courses

CSU
International Programs
- Programs offered for students from all CSU campuses

Wide variety of majors served

Academic year only programs
International Student Exchange Program
(ISEP)
- A worldwide consortium of universities, of which
SJSU is a member

Academic year, semester and summer options
SJSU
Short-term Programs
- Three to eight week programs abroad that are led
by SJSU faculty
- Often focused on a specific academic field(s)
- Can include an internship or service learning component
Dijon,
France Program
- Teach English and American culture as an assistant
language instructor in various levels of French schools in the Burgundy
region
- Take coursework at the University of Burgundy
- Receive a monthly living stipend, health insurance,
and training
- Contracts available for six, seven or nine months
- Teaching experience or training is preferred but
not required
- Intermediate level of French language is required
