Hispanic Women's Council

5805 East Beverly Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90022 (323) 728-9991 The Scholarship Program of the Hispanic Women's Council, Inc., provides scholarships on a yearly basis to Hispanic women who demonstrate a need for financial assistance to continue their education. Applicants must be 25 years of age or older, residents of Los Angeles, and must express a desire to continue their studies at a two-year or four-year college, university, trade or vocational school.

Lowrider Magazine Scholarship Fund

P.O. Box 6930 Fullerton, CA 92834 (714) 213-1000 Deadline: May 31 Amount: $1,000. The $1,000 scholarships are awarded to Hispanic students. Students must submit a personal profile consisting of name, address, phone number, Social Security number, age, ethnic background, and college major; a photograph; a one-page essay outlining their financial situation; official, sealed transcripts demonstrating that the applicant is a college sophomore, junior, or senior with at least a 3.0 GPA; two letters of recommendation; and a two-page essay.

Lucius & Eva Eastman Fund

Deadline: Deadlines are the 1st of January, May, and September. A foundation that supports filmmakers and organizations geared for film based in the NYC area. Mainly provides completion funds for a variety of documentary and narrative projects. No specific criteria for selection. Rarely provides development funds. Contact:  Lucius R. Mature Woman Grants National League of American Pen Women

1300 17th Street NW, Washington, DC 20036 Deadline: January 15 (of even numbered years) Definition: To further the 35+ age woman and her creative purposes in art, music, and letters. Eligibility: Send letter stating age, background and purpose for monetary award. Copies required: 1 Fee:$8 Prize: $1000

Helen Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico

Residencies are available to persons involved in creative, not interpretive, work in the fields of writing, painting, sculpture, musical composition, choreography, and allied arts.
